  • The Aging Services Council of Central Texas is a network of individuals and organizations working together to provide older adults and their caregivers the information and services needed to support themselves and family members, ensuring the opportunity to live healthy, safe, and meaningful lives in our communities.

  • At the heart of the Aging Services Council is the commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive support system for our older community members. Our goals are to:

    • Address Systemic Challenges: Identify and resolve larger system barriers that impact seniors in our region.

    • Meet the Needs of Older Adults: Collaborate with partners to ensure the unique needs of the aging population are met.

    • Close Service Gaps: Work together to fill gaps in services that prevent seniors from accessing vital resources.

    • Collaborate on Joint Initiatives: Partner on impactful projects that uplift the lives of older adults and their caregivers.

    • Educate and Advocate: Increase awareness about aging-related issues and available services, while advocating for policies that support the well-being of seniors.

  • The Aging Services Council of Central Texas was born from a collaborative effort in 2001 when key stakeholders—including United Way Capital Area, St. David's Foundation, Travis County Health and Human Services, Veterans Service, and the Community Action Network—conducted a landmark community assessment to understand the needs of older adults in Austin and Travis County. A community forum was held to address the findings of this comprehensive report, and in 2003, the Aging Services Council was officially formed to take action.

Through collaboration, education, advocacy, and shared resources, ASC works to build a more connected aging services network where older adults and caregivers can find the information, services, and support they need.
